The initial project to be launched by the Foundation will be an annual Greater China Summer Workshop Program in Chinese Studies, which is scheduled to be launched in June and July of 2016. This four-week program, to be conducted in English [in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Taipei], is aimed at introducing China and Chinese studies to scholars from around the world who are in disciplines other than Sinology. For further details, please refer to the section “Program Description” in this website.
To pursue further its aims and vision over the longer term, the Foundation and its Academic Board are studying the feasibility of organizing other projects to be launched in the future. These may include the following –
- Support for doctoral dissertations relating to Chinese studies from the Greater China region,
- Research-oriented summer camp aimed at exposing university students to research projects conducted by experts in various aspects of Sinology, and
- Outbound (overseas) promotion of Chinese studies, using Hong Kong and Macau as a base.
